AGM Report

16 Nov 2018 - 13:05

At the recent AGM of the Trust members heard about the reasons why the Board wish to alter the constitution to become a charitable community benefit society.  This change would enable the Trust to raise capital through Community Shares as part of the fundraising drive to complete the project. With a target of over £6m everyone agreed that every possible avenue should be explored.

The motion by the Board to agree in principle to make this change was agreed by everyone with only one abstention.  The Board will now work with Community Shares Scotland to develop the new constitution and to draft out an initial share offer.  Once this has been completed then members will be asked to pass a formal motion at an EGM to put the new constitution into place.

The AGM also re-elected Christine Eltherington, Ricky Nolan, Alan McNeish and John Stewart to the Board.

The draft minutes of the meeting are available below.
