RPS Members Print Exhibition

15 Nov 2018 - 10:30 to 29 Nov 2018 - 16:00

This year we welcome the return of the Royal Photographic Society's Members Print Exhibition and this year teamed up with Photography for Enjoyment and two local photographers.

Each year the Scottish Members of the Royal Photographic Society select 40 images to represent the current work being undertaken by them.  Each member can only have one image in the exhibition to allow the breadth of work to be shown.

Please note that the RPS images are located in our upper floor gallery which does not have disabled access.

Photography for Enjoyment is a group of people who come together to do a quintessentially human thing – be creative for the simple pleasure of it.  Offering people the opportunity to take time out from busy lives to rediscover the joy of being creative, drawing and exploring photography together.

Also on show will be selected work by Alan McNeish.  Based in Dumfries Alan has been a photographer for over twenty years and became a full-time professional three years ago.  Specialising in family portraits, pet portraits, automotive and commercial photography.

Alongside this we showcase a retrospective of work by Ricky Nolan.  A professional photographer for forty years and a lecturer for 23 of these Ricky recently returned to exploring his first interest in photography, namely fine art and alternative processes.  Shooting both film and digital he works extensively in darkrooms with handmade paper and mark making techniques before outputting selected images commercially.

Christine Eltherington will be displaying her work on the nature of the Solway north and south  in a series of images she has taken as part of a submission to RPS.

Alan, Ricky and Christine are Trustees of Shambellie House Trust

The exhibition is open daily from 10.30am until 4.00pm.
